Carmen Sandiego
In response to the post by Masters at the Art of Time Suckage, I am definately part of the Carmen Sandiego generation.

I am also part of the generation that watched Scooby Doo, the Smurfs, and Inspector Gadget as a child. I had cabbage patch kids, pound puppies, and matchbox cars.

I had a big wheel and a my little pony.

In the summer I rode my bike, went to the pool, and played kick the can until it got dark.

What generation are you from? :)

Wow, I totally made a Carmen Sandiego reference a few days ago. It was in reference to the TV show though, how many people remember that?

The defining generational line is whether you grew up with records. The kids that didn't ever have a record player or record collection are from the age of technology.

I loved that Tv show.

I'm from the Nintendo generation. I had the original Nintendo, I played with G.I. Joes, owned a BB Gun, rode my bike and played football in the streets with 3 other kids. 2 v 2 football rules!

We had a Nintendo too, but it replaced our Atari and our Apple IIe. The Apple's Green & Black screen didn't do justice to Oregon Trail and Carmen Sandiego.

We started out with an Atari 2600, and upgraded to a Nintendo. I cut my internet teeth on a Tandy computer, using Prodigy and doing BBSing. I saved my pennies for Smurf figurines, My Little Pony, and Pound Puppies.

I started with a record player, thought I was hot stuff when I got a cassette player (one of my favorites was the 'Flashdance' soundtrack!) and got a CD player in high school (which just bit the dust last year!).

Oh - you can actually download Oregon Trail (and a bunch of other Apple IIe games). I *think* this is the link - I can't double check thanks to the silly firewall here at school:
