I cannot speak about law school in general...especially because everyone says that 2nd and 3rd year are much better (please be true!) However--I do think I am now somewhat qualified to speak on the 1st year experience.

Basically it is an emotional rollercoaster. The first year moves between extreme emotional swings, from literally wanting to throw yourself out the window...to seeking some relief in alcohol/sex/some other vice.

You basically give up 99% of your life...but you do learn to really appreciate the tiny moments of relief. For example, tonight i plan on watching Deal or No Deal and The Apprentice while outlining. And I am excited.
